ในระยะแรก ถ่านหินเป็นสิ่งแรกที่นำมาเป็นพลังงาน ตระกูลสิมะโรจน์ได้ดำเนินค้าขายผลิตภัณฑ์ถ่านหิน กิจการนี้ได้เจริญรุ่งเรืองขึ้น โดยขนส่งให้กับผู้จัดจำหน่ายและผู้ค้า จนเป็นธุรกิจที่ใหญ่ในครอบครัว จึงได้จัดตั้งบริษัท สยามสหบริการจำกัด (SUSCO) ขึ้นในปี 1977 เพื่อขนส่งผลิตภัณฑ์เชื้อเพลิงและแก๊สเหลว โดยมีธุรกิจหลัก คือ การขนผลิตภัณฑ์น้ำมัน ทั้งบนฝั่งและในทะเล บริษัทฯได้เจริญเติบโตอย่างคงที่ขึ้นทุกปี และได้ประสบความสำเร็จในการขยายสาขาในธุรกิจน้ำมันอื่น ๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องนี้ด้วย การค้าขายของบริษัทฯ แต่ละส่วนได้เจริญเติบโตขึ้น และ ได้เพิ่มการขายปลีกน้ำมัน และการจัดเก็บขึ้นอีกด้วย
In the early days, when charcoal was the primary source of energy, the SIMAROJ family was engaged in the wholesale of the product. As the business flourished, transportation to various distributors and traders became a major activity in the family business. With the introduction of liquid fuel and LPG, the company took the natural coarse of engaging the transportation of these products. Siam United Services Co Ltd (SUSCO) was then established in 1977. The principal business was transportation of oil products by both land and sea. The Company had grown steadily over the years and successfully branched into other oil related business. The Company’s oil trading division experienced tremendous growth and oil retailing and storage were added into the Company’s activities.
ในขณะที่ภาวะเศรษฐกิจของไทยเริ่มแข็งแรง การค้าน้ำมันและธุรกิจการขายปลีกของบริษัทฯ ได้เติบโตขึ้นอย่างมีระบบ ในเวลานี้ SUSCO เป็นบริษัทฯผู้ค้าน้ำมัน และผู้ขายปลีกที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในบริษัทฯเอกชน ในขณะเดียวกัน บริษัทฯ ได้มีแผนการที่ขยายธุรกิจ ต่อไปในอนาคต
As the Thai economy took off aggressively, the oil trading and retailing business of the Company grew exponentially. In time, the SUSCO became one of the largest private oil trader and retailer in Thailand. As the Company expands, plans for public listing was envisioned to fuel further expansion.
ในปี 1986 บริษัทฯ ได้ทบทวนการจัดตั้งอีกครั้ง ซึ่งเป็นไปตามสภาพของบริษัทฯ ปัจจุบัน โดยได้ลงทุนในเรื่องที่ดิน และได้รวมตัวในการค้าน้ำมัน การขายปลีก และธุรกิจการเก็บน้ำมัน SUSCO จึงมีทุนที่ดำเนินการที่แข็งแกร่งดัง เช่น ถังเก็บน้ำมัน (TANK FARMS) ปั๊มบริการน้ำมัน อสังหาริมทรัพย์และอื่นๆ จึงกลายเป็นกลุ่มผู้ค้าน้ำมันที่ใหญ่ในประเทศไทย
In 1986, the Company was re-organised. Siam United Services Co Ltd, being the parent Company, undertook all land-based assets of the Company and focus on oil trading, retailing and storage business. SUSCO being strongly backed by assets, such as tank farms, petrol station, real estate and etc, became the principal entity of the Group which was subsequently listed in the Thai Stock Exchange, under the energy sector.
บริษัท สยามมงคลเดินเรือ จำกัด ได้เข้าร่วมกับ SUSCO ในปี 1986 และเป็นผู้สนับสนุนและเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของ กลุ่ม SUSCO โดยที่บริษัท สยามมงคลเดินเรือ จำกัด ได้มีทรัพย์จากบริษัทฯเดิมเป็นทุนทรัพย์ประเภทเรือ และได้รวมกันทำการขนส่งน้ำมันทางเรือตั้งแต่เริ่มแรก
Siam Mongkol Marine Co Ltd was incorporated in 1986 and became a subsidiary and part of the larger SUSCO Group of Companies. Siam Mongkol Marine Co Ltd inherited all floating assets of the former Company and focus primarily on the marine oil transportation business.
ในระหว่างช่วงเวลาที่ทำให้ธุรกิจแข็งแกร่งขึ้นนั้น งานหลักของบริษัท สยามมงคลเดินเรือ จำกัด เป็นงานด้านบริการ ตามความต้องการในการขนส่งน้ำมัน และการให้บริการตามธรรมเนียมของลูกค้าซึ่งเป็นผู้ผลิตน้ำมันในประเทศไทย กองเรือของบริษัทฯ โดยทั่วไปได้ปฏิบัติงานในประเทศไทย และในพื้นที่ประเทศใกล้เคียง
During the period of consolidation, Siam Mongkol Marine Co Ltd.’s core activities centered in servicing the parent Company’s oil transportation needs and servicing her traditional customers, which are the oil majors in Thailand. The Company’s fleet operate generally in the Thai local and Home Trade areas.
ด้วยสภาวะเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทย โดยเฉพาะในส่วนของพลังงานซึ่งได้โตขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว รัฐบาลไทยได้ให้การสนับสนุนบริษัทเอกชน เพื่อให้ลงทุนและขยายกิจการทางด้านพลังงาน ตามที่แผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจของประเทศและทิศทางเศรษฐกิจ บริษัทฯ จึงได้เริ่มดำเนินการพัฒนาในขั้นต่อไปด้วยการเพิ่มกองเรือ และขยายการค้าในน่านน้ำสากล เพื่อให้ประสบความสำเร็จตามที่ตั้งใจนี้ บริษัทฯ ต้องมีคณะผู้ร่วมงานที่มีคุณวุฒิ พร้อมด้วยประสบการณ์ในด้านเรือหลายปี กองเรือจึงสามารถขยายไปด้วยดี
With the Thai economy, especially the energy sector, continuing to grow rapidly, the Thai government had strongly supported and encouraged private enterprises to invest and expand the energy sector. In line with the Kingdom’s economic plan and direction, Siam Mongkol Marine Co Ltd is embarking on the next stage of her development. Fleet expansion and trading in the international arena are the Company’s current business objectives. In order to fulfill this ambition, the Company is staffed with well qualified professional with many years of experience in the marine field. Fleet expansion is already underway.
